Let me answer your first question , difference between and satisfaction and happiness
Satisfaction
---------------------
The act of satisfying, or the state of being satisfied; gratification of desire; contentment in possession and enjoyment; repose of mind resulting from compliance with its desires or demands. "The mind having a power to suspend the execution and satisfaction of any of its desires.
Happiness
___________
Finding happiness is like finding yourself. You don't find happiness, you make happiness. You choose happiness. Self-actualization is a process of discovering who you are, who you want to be and paving the way to happiness by doing what brings YOU the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run.
Second question : Both are essential to lead a peaceful life
Third question : How is peace linked to them ?
Ans :Theoritically the more you are satisfied , the more you feel happy , the more you are happy the more you are releaved from all the troubles, the more you are releaved the more you will be peaceful.
So it's all inter linked

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !!
Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy.
But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[
Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.

The difference is a mental state. The same act or behavior can produce or encourage either state at varying times. For example: (Drinking a glass of water while working in the yard and then going back to work or drinking a glass of you water after being on a long trip where the water never tasted good to you. The same glass of water in the same yard. Only a mental state about that water was changed.)It is a fleeting mental state that allow us to perceive the difference. Peace is knowing or observing the states as not us and being at peace with either state.

I would say that satisfaction comes from being content with the things in your life. Happiness, though, means loving your life.
It's like eating an apple; If the apple fills your stomach then you're satisfied. But if you actually enjoy eating the apple, then you're happy.
I think peace must be easier to find with satisfaction. You don't need to struggle so much to be satisfied as you do to be happy.

Satisfaction is acceptence of what is.
Happiness is enjoyment of what is.
Neither are essential both both desireable with happiness taking the lead.
When you are happy peace comes naturally. When you are satisfied peace has an opportunity.
