Have you ever had a neighbor that was rude, hard to get along with, did things to spite you, down right mean? What did you do to deal with these awful people? We had a neighbor like that once, he was just a hateful person. He would even go out of his way to be rude to my children. My kids were not allowed to talk back to him just move out of the line of fire. He and hubby would have 'words' at times. I had constant headaches. The best place to be when we lived there was our back yard. We had a private fence where he could not see us. He was this way to all his neighbors around him. No one liked him and everyone tried to avoid him.I remembered this from a movie I watched the other night about a bad neighbor. This is why we now live in the country. Hubby said no more living in the city. Poppy

Yes Poppy - I have one to the west of me (I think) right now! I live in a nice gated community designed for seniors! How this idiot ever got in here I do not know. He is about 45 and a real mean person. We are not allowed to have fences in here - and I constantly have to ask him NOT to cut my grass on the west side of my house. He does it anyway and cuts it so short that when we are without rain for a while, it turns brown and it is difficult to get it back to where it should be. I have asked my "yard man" to chat with him (I am a widow), but all to no avail. So the last time I asked him (nicely) he called the police!!!!!!!!! When the police arrived, I spoke with them, and they told me that they had had multiple complaints about him in this neighborhood and that for my own safety I should stay out of his way. Well about a month ago the police came again - but they went to his house and arrested him. I do not know why - nor do I care! He's gone (at least for now) and I am happy about that! I have always maintained that strong fences make for good neighbors. CJ
I do have one neighbor that I have a problem with, but not the same kind that you are talking about. This guy I was my neighbor when we were growing. We both moved away from home and now we are both back home now so to speak. He lives in his own house and me in mine. There are just a few feet between his house and mine. He has put up a privacy fence in the last year to separate our yards. He is always wanting to help out here with my parents and I. Now here is where the problem comes in at. If I ask him for help, he wants a favor from me in return! I always tell him no and that I am not interested. We try hard to find someone that will help us but once in a blue moon we do have to call on him. I try to avoid him every chance that I get. If it weren't for his potty mind, everything would be great.
I lived in the country more than the city. I like the country better. I never thought I'd say that, since growing up in a city. When my present husband and I moved to a larger city I was apprehensive. I knew there would be more crime, and also having to start over meeting people, but I was willing to give it a try. We made the mistake of befriending a neighbor who ended up telling lies to his next door neighbor and she read us the riot act saying she was told that we said her back yard was an eyesore. It was a total lie. Her yard is full of flowers, trees, pines, and I thought it was really pretty. The troublemaker neighbor was trying to stir up trouble. He later admitted he lied and said he doesn't know why he told her that. That was it for me. I washed my hands of both. She speaks, and I speak, but that is it. I'm not giving any neighbors the chance to twist what I say. Our next door neighbor on meeting her first time told us that she has the dirt on all the neighbors. I politely excused myself and haven't talked to her since. Sorry this is so long. JB
When I lived in the city I had a crazy neighbor too. He scrached the paint on our car 3 times, threw. stones at our dog that was in our fenced yard. After 8 years we sold out and moved to the country.
I live in country also I never want to go back to apt living or neighbors it was awful especially when you got kids there is some kinda fighting going on Ill stay in the country with neighbors a mile away.
