While Sarah has no documented flying experience her husband Todd does hold a Private Pilot's license, but with the designation Single-Engine Land.
How does a holder of a land certificate fly a float plane without a Single-Engine Sea qualification?
Most Piper Super Cubs on Floats of this age and era are in the Experimental Class of airplanes catagories. Anyone with a valid pilot's license can land and takeoff from water in this catagory without a single engine sea rating.
