Should I believe my brother?

He is retired Air Force, worked uncovering unsavory characters in the branch. He tells me that it ironic that Obama would be running because he could not pass the security clearance requirements of the government due to his affiliations.

Its just when you say "security clearance requirements of the government" I think of Jeff Gannon, who cleared all the Government Clearance requirements for the white house. This isn't actually meant to be a Pro anybody stance, just saying who is calling the kettle black, I think if you look at the affiliations of the Administration closely the last 8 years, you would say WOW!!

No you should not. People just do not apply for a clearance. They have to apply for a job that requires a clearance. The U.S Senate does not, therefore he have never applied for a clearance. But as a candidate, he was vetted. Oh yeah the president doesn't have to have clearance either, if so G.W Bush would not have been elected on the ground of his reserve record.
