why do people think 00 gauge is the largest size for piercings and call them gauges?
i dont understand it, everyone asks me all the time since i know about piercings and have 7/16" stretched 1st lobe piercings among others.
when i had 00 gauge though everyone would ask if thats the biggest, even now when i have this size i was asked today if this is the largest size, even though many people have seen other people on tv or online or wherever with larger sizes.
also, how did this little thing start with everyone who knows nothing about stretched piercings calling them "gauges" when its a unit of measurement.
thats like calling my plugs "inches" or "millimeters" it just doesn't make sense!
sorry, this is really random, but im just wondering people's thoughts on this.
(please excuse my gramatical errors like not capitalizing and forgetting apostrophes and whatever else, apparently people get mad when i forget those things and think im an idiot who shouldn't be taken seriously, this isnt anything formal though, so calm down)
to J S, its not the largest measurement, after 00 it goes to 7/16", 12mm, 1/2", etc.
to Wealthy, Handsome, & Elite, at least have some knowledge put behind your insults, piercings are not for poor people, they are about $50 each, so if anything its a sign of wealth, jewelry can be very expensive as well, costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
stretching your ears (or any piercing) is very costly, you need to keep buying tapers and new jewelry and cant even use the ones that dont fit anymore, ive spend about $180 in the past year buying the cheapest plugs and tapers i could find (which are still expensive) and i cant even wear the ones that are too small for me anymore.
so tell me again, how are they for poor people?
to Josh Y, yea i figured, it doesn't really bother me, i just threw it in to hear some opinions, i was just wondering how it started, i find it easier to say plugs anyways haha
