Why are so many military wives disgustingly FAT?
I've heard all the excuses;
1. I've had 2 kids
2. My schedule is so hectic
3. I'm depressed so I eat too much
Granted, it is an American epidemic, but I see so many guys who are in shape and try very hard to keep themselves fit, go home to women who were average before becoming a military wife, and then balloon up! Why don't more women take pride in being a representative of the military family and stay in shape?
I'm a 22 year and counting U.S. Army and Navy active duty member and proud husband of a very fit wife. I'm also a faithful Christian who would NEVER cheat. For all those people who will answer by citing one of the excuses already listed, don't waste my time.
Ron, Red and YA User... thanks for the candide answers. You may be right about the number of overweight military wives to Americans in general. It is a sad state of affairs. The truth is that it has become so far down on the importance scale it is scary. Longer healthier lives, for your kids and family SHOULD BE a "more important" thing to do!
I'm 5'10", 210, 32" waist and run a 5km in 19 minutes. I work out 6 days a week 2X M-F. My wife and I eat a very healthy organic diet, and we simply want Americans to realize that we are killing ourselves. Military wives are what I see mostly because I'm in the military and they are dangerously obese. It is sad and makes me a little angry to be honest. Angry because they are selfishly killing themselves. Ask ANY of them if they are on the internet more than an hour a day or sitting in front of the TV more than an hour a day and 100% will say "YES!" So, don't give me that "I don't have time" excuse.
Wow! These are some great answers. As Tom said, my main point is that spouses of military personnel are looked at just as closely as those in uniform and everyone should take pride in their appearance and health. I'm 40 and it is not as easy to stay in shape as it used to be, but stop with all the excuses. A proper diet, and burning more calories than we take in will reduce our body fat, period!
