how many gallons of gasoline do american drivers put in their tanks each week? total weekly consumption.?

i want to know how much additional money american consumers now have to spend on something other than gasoline. i'm figuring a $3 per gallon reduction in gasoline prices - could this be one billion dollars more spending power each week in the hands of consumers?

We are still suffering after paying $400 / month when gas was at $4 per gallon.

We work on annual budgets at our home. That high gas is making us spend practically nothing for christmas.
