As you easily begin to study economic cycles You Naturally gain a better understanding. In fact, the more inflated the bubble, the worst the crash.
Obama is taking over a mess. This is the worst time to be a president. It doesn't matter who became president this time; things will get worse before they get better. One man will not be able to clean up the reckless greed that has put the u.s. in this position.
Unethical mortgage brokers pushing loans down the throats of the american people. Sure no one put a gun to their head to take out loans, but the masses are not that saavy. They buy on hope and emotions and an army of loan agents trying to get theirs, pulled the heart strings and with enthusiasm sold low house payments and didn't focus on how those loans will reset. These no money down, interest only loans snagged a lot of people and outrageously inflated home prices. The bush administration is also responsible. Easy money, liar loans, etc. created one of the most massive bubbles you will ever see and Bush did nothing to quell these lending practices.

Shame on those loan reps who were drunk on greed and pushing the easy money simply so they can get theirs at the expense of others. The Bush administration did nothing to regulate these loans and greedy mortgage reps couldn't police themselves as they were to drunk on their own paychecks. Now the day of reckoning has come.
It will only get worse no matter who is president. I just like our chances with a more rational and thoughtful executive at the helm.
Hopefully history does Not repeat itself in regards to a "blame it on a black man mentality" This is not some "hood" talk, This crap has happened throughout America's history. Personally, knowing how much worse it is going to get... I can't help but think for a minute...
"Is the brother being set up?" Laugh now, but when the market keeps tanking and people are afraid to look in the mirror and take responsibility. Who will they blame?

I imagine there is a lot of myopic / shortsighted people who will, like this questioner, point the blame at Obama and forget how far the last 8 years of Bush has and is going to set us back.

But Naturally you can WAKE UP NOW and realize that
Four years will not resolve this and it would be foolish to think it ever could. You could actually start to cultivate those qualities of love and compassion for your neighbor and allow to melt away the lines of party, race, religion and ideology. We can really be part of a new world order... Not in a scary way like we have been trained to believe... but in a way that transforms our society to one where we all live in harmony, where the divide between the haves and have nots is eradicated and we realize that there is enough for all.

Study VonMises.org and find out what happens to economies and societies that experience massive credit expansion like we have experienced the last 8 years. It's not pretty.

here is a link with some info concerning the inauguration budget and how several media sources do not compare the same raw figures to accurately put it in perspective.

Do what is right, help your neighbor. This downturn is an opportunity to get to know each other and love one another. We might not realize it now but this next several years will be a gift that will teach us that material objects don't bring us the most joy; Our friendships will.

Let's not forget the store itself. How many times have we shopped there and left angry because of emplyeee apathy and just plain discourtesy.Let's not be so quick to blame the President. He just took office. These problems didn't happen over night.Yes Government can share blame, but nationwide hiring practices forced good customers and long time patrons to go else where .Is Lowes having difficulties? I don't see it.Home depot profits are down.Who brings in those profits? We the buying public,w2ho shop there and put up with incompetance, disrespect and sheer laziness

Home Depot employees are the rudest and have no idea why they have a job..I sure hope the guy who walked away from me at Home Depot is out of work with the rest of the 7000 employees.

I haven't lost my faith yet. He has been in office for less than a week. That is not enough time to reverse the domino effect that has already started. You talk about him talking a good game, but did you even listen to him? He has mentioned many many times before that it will get harder before it gets better and that we all need to work together. There are going to be even more layoffs in the months to come and fixing the economy is not an overnight job.

I'm not a fan of Barry Sutero at all. But damn, man, he's been in office for less than a week, how could you possibly blame him for Home Depot downsizing their work force?
