I'm with the other poster on this one a straight edge razor does wonders for getting burnt on stuff plus water mark come off in a breeze. I will never buy a glass stove top again. Wish I could get rid of this one and get a porcelain like I used to have. It was so easy to clean, But I had to have stainless steel. And how many stoves do you buy in a life time.
NO SOS PAD! Use soap and water to get it slightly wet. Scrape off heavy stuff with a new razor blade. Then use a white nylon scrub pad to get the rest with glass top stove cleaner. Then, buff with a soft cloth. The glass top stove cleaner has silicone in it and will leave a protective shiny coating. Green scrub pads and sos pads will scratch the surface making it harder to clean in the future.
Our stove is 8 yrs old and looks like new. I use Ceramabryte and a razor scraper to clean it and it removes everything we've ever got on it. I do remember something about not getting sugary liquid burnt on, apparently it's very bad when that happens. Perhaps Jello would fall under that catagory. Good luck.
****DO NOT*** USE SOS PADS AS SOMEONE SUGGESTED. I would also be very leery using razors. Go to Sears or Best Buy and get the special cleaner for ceramic top stoves. Just keep working the stuff into the stains, and they will eventually come out.
FYI, you should use the stuff a few times a week to seal the glass. (yes glass is pourous)... It will help in making future stains easier to remove...
If your special cleaner does not work, then you have the wrong cleaner..don't use scrub pads of any kind on a black smooth top stove..it will scratch..try a different cleaner (different make) from the stores that sell your stove..use it on a cold top and use a ribbed cloth and lots of elbow grease..it will work and it will clean it off safely.
