I need to know the best way to clean a glass top stove.?

I have a glass top stove and it has some baked on food on it that I just can't seem to clean off. Please does anyone have any suggestions. I have even tried scraping but it will not come off.

How To Clean A Stove Top

If your stovetop is fairly clean spray it with KC1000 Heavy or Grease Cutting Multi-purpose cleaner and wipe it with a terry cleaning cloth. But if you have gone without cleaning it for a while, that is a different story. If your stove has grease and burnt on food, it is best to use Grease Grizzly or KC1000 undiluted. Spray the entire stovetop, except for the electric burners if you have them. Let stand for about 15 minutes. Use a white nylon scrubber with sponge to scrub any hard to clean places. Then wipe clean with a terry cleaning cloth. Depending on how dirty your stove is, you may have to repeat the process again. If your drip pans just don't come clean throw them away and buy new ones. They are so cheap at Home Depot. If you have a glass stove top use a cleaner like Windex. Don't use an all-purpose cleaner since that will make the surface streak. Here is a tip: The way to keep your stovetop clean and looking new is to never cook on it. I am just joking. No, the way to keep it clean is to wipe it frequently. That means after every use or when you spill something on it.

Tip: If you have kids in the house always use the back burner when cooking. Also turn the handles toward the back of the stove. If you are purchasing a new stove, be sure that you get one with knots in the back instead on the front.

Most grocery stores have stove glass top cleaner. I apply mine with a cleaning rag then wipe dry with clean towel. Also if you have to scrape use a plastic edge. Mine came with my stove.

I have one of those stoves....I use those scott brite scrub pads..and paper towels....I went to lowes bought me a kit that has a scraper that you use on those stoves..plus there is a bottle of cleaner that comes with the kit too...you put the cleaner on first, let it set for a little while then take the scraper get all that will come off..off then use the other stuff....Good luck..It does work..Thats what I do to mine...I love my stove never had one before, untill now.

you need to use the rough side of a sponge(you know the ones that have that thin layer of green stuff) to scrape off the stuff.....also a triick I always do is i take really hot water and squeeze some of it onto the dried on stuff let it set for like 10 minutes or so and that helps to make the stuff soft.....there is special cleaning stuff that you can buy for glass top stoves but I just use dishsoap and it works just fine....

Also you might be interested in this tip for pans and such with dried on food in them......you fill them with hotwater and then you put a fabric softner sheet in it and let it soak over night.....

There are ceramic cleaners - Ceramabrite? I think is the name. Try different spellings. You can buy at Home Depot or Lowes. I don't remember which. I moved and don't have that stove anymore!

At Home Depot you can pick up a bottle of "Cook Top-Cleaning creme for smooth top ranges" it is like $5. You put it on the messy area and let it sit. Then scrub it with one of those sponges that has the rougher side on it. This works great!

Tried the cleaners and plastic scrappers and they just don't work on the baked on stuff. Try using a box cuter blade it get everything up

Try Hob Brite available in Morrisons and probably other supermarkets. This can be used daily, just wipe on and rinse off.

Bon Ami cleanser. It's like Comet or Ajax powder, but "hasn't scratched yet."
