How many Bagpipes required to be properly blown in on a traditional Scottish wedding ceremony?

for a small gathering in a small hall

One is enough. I've played many, many weddings. The vast majority want me to play the processional and/or recessional. About half hire me to play some at the reception also...like pipe in the new couple when they arrive at the hall and then play for ten or fifteen minutes. Sometimes I'm asked to play while the guests are leaving.

Bagpipes are mighty powerful

any wedding i have been to
(i live in Scotland)

its always a lone piper

they stand outside the church and play to greet the guests

a lone piper has HUGE atmosphere
rather than a group
