Female nudity has been far more common in mainstream movies for decades that's probably why more of the male variety has been shown recently. It has greater shock value- for example, in Sideways.

Before porn became a multi-billion dollar industry, unrated and softcore films of the 1970s and 1980s had more nudity than you could shake a blue radioactive stick it.

The answer is that there are precious few mainstream movies that have shown the vulva (the cleft of the female pubic triangle). I think I can count about 5 but even with these you wouldn t want to blink or you d miss it. To my knowledge there are no TV series that have. This is indeed strange because it is this cleft that goes to the essence of being a woman. Without it they are no more than eunuchs

Some argue that the reason is that the vulva is not normally visible without the adoption of porn like poses, but this is rubbish. One would expect that most actresses shave or trim their pubic hair as statistics indicate that most women do and why would actresses be any different. Where the actress is fully or partly shaven it is clearly visible (see the movie Trance for instance, one of the precious few that I mentioned).

So the truth is that all of these movies that are claimed to show female genitalia (other than the few exceptions I mentioned) actually don t. The result is achieved with the use of either obtuse camera angles, selective blurring or the wearing of merkins. This is in comparison to the free for all on penises, even erect ones.

The reason for this is a combination of conservative values in the past and the power of women in today s society. Ancient Roman and Greek sculpture was guilty of this double standard and the plaque on the pioneer space craft which originally showed both the man and the woman in an anatomically correct state was censored to remove the vulva cleft. Today, its the influence of the feminists that produces this result. Its kind of ironic when you consider Germaine Greer s "Female Eunuch". It is the feminists themselves that now insist women be depicted as eunuchs....Show more

I was watching the show "The Borgias" on Netflix - the double standard for male nudity in that show was nothing sort of horrific. I'm not even one to care about that sort of stuff.

But holy ****, they are literally showing upside down men completely naked, ***** and balls flopping around in plain view as they get cut in half. Next they shove a stick in this guys *** - again completely naked dick flopping around. But then they have the nerve to cover up even the slightest hint of female genitalia...

Its like males don't have any self respect anymore.. horrifying double standards. I have never seen anything like what I just saw in that mainstream film....Show more
