This iPod rip can help you on this.

My sister found it when she had to transfer her iPod files to her new laptop.
It can help you transfer all music, videos, playlists, photos, podcasts and TV Shows and more from iPod to PC, from iPod to iTunes, from PC to iPod transfer and file sharing between multiple iPods. The greatest thing is that the whole process won't cause any deletion of any files on your iPod. You can free download it to try.

Good luck!

Here is a solution. Simply use an iPod transfer program to help you get all songs and videos from your iPod Touch back to this new computer and iTunes, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer

Many of my friends are using it for its proven easy and safe transfer. The whole process needs just a few simple clicks.

Simply install this program on your new computer. When you plug your iPod Touch to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod Touch. You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your selected folder on the computer completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library.
More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod.

It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process:

Best luck!

in case you propose on shifting all 1148 songs onto an iPod touch, then I definitely advise getting the 16GB. The iPod touch isn't as exciting devoid of having video. The iPod touch between different electronics is amazingly sturdy. I certainly have had little difficulty with it in my months with it.

No i don't think you will lose all your videos and songs if u've already added them to the new itunes in ur new computer. it will work fine as long as it has songs in it. but to be risk i suggest 1st back them up and then sync so it will be much safer create copies of the songs and store it somewhere.so if anything as such happens you won't lose everything.
