in case you propose on shifting all 1148 songs onto an iPod touch, then I definitely advise getting the 16GB. The iPod touch isn't as exciting devoid of having video. The iPod touch between different electronics is amazingly sturdy. I certainly have had little difficulty with it in my months with it.

No i don't think you will lose all your videos and songs if u've already added them to the new itunes in ur new computer. it will work fine as long as it has songs in it. but to be risk i suggest 1st back them up and then sync so it will be much safer create copies of the songs and store it somewhere.so if anything as such happens you won't lose everything.

You can use an ipod to computer transfer program to help. I personally use Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps me to transfer my songs/videos/photos from ipod to computer directly and safety.

unless u can put the old hard drive into your new computer there is no way to get the songs back, sorry, or if you go out to best buy, circuit city, etc.and buy the itunes beta or something like that you can prob. do that.
