I was wondering how to surprise and celebrate with my mom and step-dad that my name change I filed for, giving me their last name went through. I have kept quiet about it since last bringing it up about a month ago. I got the paperwork today. What do you think?

I would have a big envelope and when dinner was over with, I would present them to them while they where watching tv. I hope the are as happy about this as you are. What a wonderful way to show and honor a man that now you can call Dad, not step dad.

maybe mail a letter to yourself addressed with the new name.or have a firend call and ask for you by the new name

Maybe make a cake and decorate somehow with your new name and theirs. maybe make a party of it if you can with pizza or a main dish you make, even frozen pizza or lasagna if you don't like to cook.
