How do get rid of red, almost acne type bumps on my arms?

I have these little red bumps that are almost like pimples on my arms and I want to know how to get them to be clear and smooth. Any ideas?

My two siblings have them on both of their arms. It is called keratosis pilaris which is a harmless skin condition where the skin that normally should flake off form plugs in hair follicles. Skin condition gets better when you apply moisturizers like Elocon ointment or urea.

You probably mean you have urticaria, not urea. Urticaria is a vascular reaction of the skin. Urea is a chemical compound. Usually an allergic response to something, urticaria can become chronic (long-lasting), which is what you seem to be suffering from. Google the word "urticaria", and if the pictures match what you have, there are over-the-counter treatments suggested on the webpages which may help and at least should do no harm. If it is allergic urticaria, you'll need to figure out what it is you are reacting to, and then steer clear of it. Good luck. I know I'm just a dog doc, but we see such things in animals. They can be buggers to treat until we figure out the cause.

oh yes I have the same thing. It's actually how your body gets rid of dead skin--by creating those pimples. I actually went to the doctor to get it checked out and she simply told me to buy baby oil and rub it on my arms. Let it soak in for about 10-15 minutes and then use the showerhead and a pouf to scrub your arms (scrub hard--but not too hard) Do it regularly and they'll go away!! yay! good luck : )

Try exfoliating daily in the shower. If this doesn't work after about a week (I can't see what it looks like) try a little hydro cortisone acetate cream USP, 0.5% Follow the instructions on the package.
