How can "typical Liberal" mean "lazy welfare mom" AND "overeducated elitist" at the same time?
I've been called a "typical Liberal who wants taxpayers to pay for my children while I sit on my lazy butt", and I've also been called "a typical, over-educated elitist Liberal who thinks I know everything". In this forum.
So, which is it? Which generalization of a "Liberal" is the correct one? It would seem that they are at direct odds with each other.

So, according to nearly every Republican who clicked the "Answer" button, they don't care for your question and simply wanted to insult you some more. It seems pretty straight-forward. Perhaps reading comprehension is not for them?
omg are you saying there is only one type of person in a large political party and the republicans get to pick which one it is? wow! you're a moron! you see there are many different types of people on all ends of the political spectrum, see there are the fat *** lazy people who want something for nothing because its easier. then there is the over educated that want to give the lazy people whatever they want because they in fact are lazy as well and didn't want to pay for their education.
now i know this will be tough for you, but just try and imagine that they're republicans that aren't all like bush too, amazing... see i'm more of a moderate republican, not an extreme republican. just like pelosi and obama aren't exactly the same. now i know you are most likely some moronic communist that wants everybody to be exactly the same so we can all be lovely robot people but that isn't so.
we join political parties because they represent most of what we believe in, just like your dumb *** most likely thinks that all republicans are either bumpkins from the south or super rich corporate fat cats. those seem in direct odds with each other too don't they?
LOL. I KNOW that you like to perpetuate stereotypes when you flame. ;p
The funny thing is that you described my ex-girlfriend/roommate almost to a "T".
Single mom. Student who has been going to school on grants and loans for over 8? years and still does not have more than an AA. Good grades. Full load of classes (as much as necessary to not lose her funding). Did not have a job for the entire 2+ years we dated (I supported her. She refuses some forms of welfare but accepts others; it is a matter of pride not reason.). Still does not have a job. Does not pay rent. Just started paying a few shared bills now that she got some new school grants.
Yes, I know that it does not reflect well on my manhood that I still live with my ex-GF AND get no nookie out of it. I love her son (not mine), and trust her not to mess with my stuff (we have been friends for almost 20 years).
What you are are seeing is the result of a focused effort by republicans and conservatives and neoconservatives to blame "liberals" for not going along with what's supposed to be "American," which is actually only what republicans say is American. In other words, the reason the term "liberal" carries such a negative stigma for some people is because they don't realize neoconservatives under the Bush administration attempted to turn the U.S. into a totalitarian nation that only looks like a democracy.
Both poorly defined forms of the term liberal are obviously coming from anti-liberals who want to support a form of right-wing extremism.
liberalism: A political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy [freedom] of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties.
So when you are anti-liberal this is what you're saying:
anti-liberalism: An ideology based on no belief in progress, the essential evil of the human race, the enslavement of the individual and standing for no protection of political and civil liberties.
My question is: Why are these people choosing the road to a type of slavery? They'd rather put the blinders on and scapegoat liberals than see how fascism is slowly becoming the latest fashion with right-wing conservatives?
Since these designated appellations are mutually exclusive, I am forced to pick only one of them: I tend to lean towards the "typical, over-educated elitist Liberal who thinks [she] know[s] everything" point of view. Not sure about the vegetative tendencies of your butt because I figure it's none of my business.
