Yesterday evening, before sundown, I was walking my dog and we passed a large lake with a dome in the middle. I noticed the many species of bird that were swimming, quite separatly at this point and in many different directions.
After admiring their incredible markings, we continued on our walk past lots of amazing houses, some of which cost between two and three million pounds. And it wasn't so much the neat hedges and the beautifully kept lawn that I was struck by, but more the warm homely feel that each one of them had managed to retain.
And I saw a family arrive back and unload their belongings from the boot, and a young girl around the age of six run up to the house excitedly whilst Dad was joking with Mum about needing a larger car. (Yes I'm quite observant hehe). Anyway, I was thinking to myself how I want to live as well as they do.
But I was reminded of the fact that I must work very hard to achieve that. Anyhow, this experience lasted no longer than two minutes yet had managed to already have an impact on me.
As we were walking home, the dog and I once again passed the lake.
It was a lot darker now and the birds appeared to be swimming to the middle of the dome. As I had knowledge of the area I was aware that the dome in the middle provided them shelter for the night and little houses for their brood. I continued to watch how they all swam in the same direction, as opposed to before. And together.
It reminded me that although we're all individuals that swim in different directions and chase different things, there are also desires of which we all share. Not a house, but a home, and not money but a living and so on. And not only this, but when we swim together, we often reach our destinations a lot quicker.
I'm currently taking my GCSE's (I'm 16) and so this has really motivated me to work hard and encourage my friends to do the same.
Because we can all be that family or that swan.
I'm sorry that was slightly long :) But thank you, best wishes.

I was certain my sink was mouse-proof. Now I'm not sure where they get in. I guess I have learned that mice are harder to keep out than you think. Once I had a mouse caught behind a kitchen cabinet that I had pulled out from the wall and I threw a cat down there. The cat jumped right back up, it was impossible to get the cat to spot the clearly visible and helpless mouse. I still wonder about that.

Keep my mouth shut. Listen and be quiet. I happen to be one of those very opinionated people with very strong conservative ideals, this gets me in trouble a lot because most of the people in my family are just the opposite and I get into it with them very easy, So for my wifes sake I have decided to just keep my mouth shut.

It's one of those, "Same as it ever was" kind of things.

That inconsistency will consistently appear, but to hold onto hope
as though it were the most important thing we can have.
