CPR Breathing, Air supply?

Just curious...when you give CPR to someone, you are supposed to be breathing into them from your exhaled air supply..isn't that pretty much valueless, since you exhale CO2 and they need oxygen?

Your exhaled air has 16% oxygen in it. It's most certainly better than nothing. Normally air is 21% O2.

Laura, when you breath, you inhale oxygen but you don't absorb all of it.
When you exhale you're exhaling carbon dioxide AND what's left of the oxygen that you inhaled.
