Is anyone else sad that such a great actor died in such an unsophisticated way, everyone in the world knows?
David Caradine was a wonderful actor, and while his personal life was never as peaceful and harmonious as his roles, isn't this a tragic way to go. I know the autopsy results are still pending.
It is sad that how he died is the way some people will remember him most.
Do you think his acting will outweigh the memories of how he died?

Wow Anton, I hadn't thought of that.

who the hell is David Caradine, even my Mary dunt know.
Yes, like you, I am very sad to hear of his passing. Do not be too quick to jump to conclude that Thai authorities are telling the truth surrounding his death. The Thai police and authorities are corrupt from bottom to top and they will change or manipulate any information that could negatively impact the tourist trade. Beware and keep a very open mind. Unfortunately because we rely on information from the Thais we will never know the truth behind his death.
****EDIT**** Hey gerlawgoody1, see now the family has called in the FBI to help? This is because they have had the run around from the Thai police. The family clearly knows nothing about Thai culture - calling in the FBI will be seen by the Thais is a terrible national insult. The family will get no cooperation from the Thais now. They are sunk.
I expect that the manner of his death will be how people remember him most.
It's considered so bizarre by most people, that it sticks in your mind. His legacy would have been better off if the truth had never come out, and it was reported as suicide.
And someone mentioned that it was weird that he was in a closet. It's not. People who practice autoerotic asphyxiation literally hang themselves. The clothes bar in a closet is a popular place to do this. It's not supposed to be fatal, of course. Apparently, the person doing it ties a slipknot and keeps the piece of rope in his hand so he can pull out the knot when it gets too dangerous. But if the person passes out first, or the knot is tied wrong, it doesn't work, and they suffocate.
If people remember this at all, I think those who remember his long acting career will remember watching him act and doing martial arts. That is certainly what I remember about him. A terrific actor and athlete.
It's like John Lennon. I loved his music and what he was about. When he got shot it was as if I got shot. I was mortified. But I still remember what he was and stood for, more than how he died.
No one would commit suicide and leave their self in such a stupid situation. Plus, he was in a closet. It's just too weird.
like he says, dying with string around your johnathan thomas, nakid, in a thai hotel is not unsophisticated, its like something from a tarrentino movie, quite sophisticated really

thai police are very dodgy, the truth might never come out
