If it made in China, then are they polluting the water and the air making them? How can that be "Green"?

The Prius' battery is made in Japan in by Panasonic EV Energy, a joint venture company partially owned by Panasonic with Toyota having the majority.

At least they are polluting china instead of driving a regular car and polluting our air.

china. yes, they are polluting the water and air heavily. add to that the fact that nickel mining is one of the most polluting on earth, that it gets shipped all over the world before being made into a car and 'real' pollution is HIGHER on a Prius than on most midsized and smaller cars. one study rated it higher than a hummer actually, although after reading the study he took some pretty wild liberties with his numbers.
