Do I need to remove this dirt from my hand or will it go away naturally?

Today, I tripped while running and my right hand grazed the concrete. There wasn't any bleeding, and there's only a light stinging pain when I touch it, but some of the skin on my hand was cut and a bit of dirt still remains in some parts which won't come out when I run it under cold water. I think this dirt is in another layer of skin. Will I need to remove the remaining dirt from my hand using something like tweezers or hydrogen peroxide, or will it go away naturally?

Well I would try to clean is out as best as you can. It really depends on how deep it is in your skin though, because if it's near the surface then it shouldn't cause too many problems, but if it's deep in there then there's a chance that it could lead to something more serious. This is a much different situation...but...a few years ago my friend broke her arm completely in half by falling and her bone came out of the skin and everything. Since her bone was basically rubbed in dirt, it wasn't cleaned completely before being sewn back into her skin and so she's had tons of problems with it. She had to have two more follow up surgeries and this thing called a picc line...which is basically an iv that goes into your arm and travels up to your heart and she has to pump medicine into it twice a day for 35 minutes. I'm sure yours isn't as serious as that, and I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just sayin' haha. I would clean it out just in case, even if you don't think it's too bad. Better safe than sorry!

I try to get as much out as pain will allow me to, using hydrogen peroxide when I can't get any more out. The peroxide just kills and possible infection(bugs) that may be present. After that I leave it.
You shed dead skin cell every day(we call it dust in the house) So as you heal, the dirt stain that is embedded will slowly make its way to the surface..so that means at sometime in the future the dirt stain will make it to the surface to be shed off. Body is amazing in that respect.
