When it comes to pet stores and pet shelters, normally volunteers under the age of 18 cannot help with the animals directly, such as hands-on, due to liability issues. It depends on who you ask and what facility, but at your age it might be a little while before you get to a place where you can work directly with the animals. BUT, if you end up finding somewhere that will let you help out, with time they may see how responsible you are and allow you access to many more opportunities.
Above all, when talking to whoever you end up talking to, be respectful, enthusiastic, and mature.
i'd call them, and ask. just say " i am interested in volunteering here and i know alot about animals, and would love to help out. "
also:
-im 14, so could you post and tell whether they say yes or no? :) - if they say no, you can also help out at a local animal shelter (my 13 yr old friend does that! ) - or you could volunteer at a local zoo. :)
You should say, Hello my name is " '' im a responsible 13 year old who loves animals and reptiles im very trustworthy and i wont slack off on the job so i was wondering if i could help out around here? And where i live 13 is old enough to work at a pet place
I dont know it depends on the place, but im sure youll be able to find a place that lets you. You may need parental permission for some places but everyone loves free labor you cant go wrong. Try the SPCA.
