When it comes to pet stores and pet shelters, normally volunteers under the age of 18 cannot help with the animals directly, such as hands-on, due to liability issues. It depends on who you ask and what facility, but at your age it might be a little while before you get to a place where you can work directly with the animals. BUT, if you end up finding somewhere that will let you help out, with time they may see how responsible you are and allow you access to many more opportunities.

Above all, when talking to whoever you end up talking to, be respectful, enthusiastic, and mature.

Good luck!

If you live near a zoo you could always try volunteering there. You also might be able to volunteer at a day camp or sunday school or your church.

i'd call them, and ask. just say " i am interested in volunteering here and i know alot about animals, and would love to help out. "

also:

-im 14, so could you post and tell whether they say yes or no? :)
- if they say no, you can also help out at a local animal shelter (my 13 yr old friend does that! )
- or you could volunteer at a local zoo. :)

hope you get to do somethig fun w/ animals!!! :D

I dont know it depends on the place, but im sure youll be able to find a place that lets you. You may need parental permission for some places but everyone loves free labor you cant go wrong. Try the SPCA.
