Where can 13 year olds volunteer?
My friends and I are 13 years old and we would like to volunteer. I checked out the ASPCA website because we all love animals, but the youngest you can be is 16. Does anyone have ideas on a couple of different places we could try??? :D ^^
PS-all of the answers are great. thnx for all your help and thnx to anyone who posts some more answers!

You might be able to volunteer at a hospital. Especially children's hospitals. At the children's hospital where I live, they're always looking for people to read to the kids in hospital rooms. I'm 13 also, and I've volunteered at the children's hospital. Good luck!

If you live near a zoo you could always try volunteering there. You also might be able to volunteer at a day camp or sunday school or your church.

You should ask your school counsiler (or your homeroom teacher.) I'm sure there are things you can do at your school.
Example: Be a teacher's assistant, help out in the library, help out at the book fair, help organize school programs like Play Days, Track and Field.

if you all love animals look around for your most local farm and ask there, maybe a nearby kennels. because of your age i dont have many other suggestions. if its experience you want to gain, think of helping down the old peoples homes or cleaning in schools, old peoples homes again. im sure they'll let you with your parents consent.
good luck. email me to let me know what comes up! x
