It is very difficult for any organization to allow a 13 year old to volunteer. Please don't give up; see if you can get an adult to volunteer with you. Hope this helps.

You might be able to volunteer at a hospital. Especially children's hospitals. At the children's hospital where I live, they're always looking for people to read to the kids in hospital rooms. I'm 13 also, and I've volunteered at the children's hospital. Good luck!

Idk much on orphanages, but i know many times humane societies and other shelters will allows kids to volunteer as long as a parent signs off. I work at a shelter and we have kids younger than you in there all the time. The dogs and cats LOVE getting attention, and can be a lot like kids (being trained, giving love, wanting to be with you), and you can help promote the animals outside so they can get adopted into good homes. Working with the animals may help you getting an orphanage job later.

You might want to try a state park, but seriously 13 yrs is too young for this country. There are insurance issues and child laws. Maybe create your own 'dog walking', lawn mowing or 'keep a lonely elder company' service.

I was also looking at jobs, and I am interested in horses and riding, at my stables, I am going to just help, leading the horses, around the ring during lessons, there are places that do want volunteers, sometimes you have to just ask them, as it is not always advertised.

Good news. Candyface can become a Candy Stiper at a local hospital. See links for information.
