First of all, great movie. Actors were awesome, special effects great, funny, sad and scary moments, the whole package. BUT..... What the heck was up with that scene at the Burrow where they all run outside when they're chased by Deatheaters that eventually burn down the Burrow??? That wasn't in the book and it made no sense whatsoever since it wasn't really obvious why they were there in the first place. Personally, I would have spent those precious and probably very expensive movie minutes on Harry, Ron and Hermione trying to work out who the Halfblood Prince is, because I think they kind of forgot about that whole thing, which is strange, cause the book was named for it! Opinions?

I agree. I myself am a DIE HARD HP fan and throughout the whole movie I had to keep on explaining to my friends what was going on. They didn't explain anything. I mean they whole 'Half-blood Prince' just died a death until the end.
The beginning scene wasn't in the book. We saw NOTHING of the house-elves, DADA classes (Snape/detentions) or Quidditch. The house elves are important for the next film (or should I say filmS?!!!). The DADA lessons are important as we learn more about the relationship between Snape and James. Harry becomes the Q. captain for Gryffindor and they win the Cup.
No mention of O.W.Ls (very brief, as in 2 seconds!) or N.E.W.Ts. There was no mention of all the deaths. Which are very important as they allow us as the reader, to gain an understanding of how common death is, and will be (next book). Dumbledore's funeral was also not in the film, only the people raising their wands (wtf?).
Harry doesn't want to go to the Slug-club and it is Tonks who finds Harry on the train, not Luna. Again, we only see the Order for a few seconds. Tonks isn't upset about Sirius and there is no mention of Tonks being with Lupin. Also, we hear nothing about Harry's school life. And we hear/see NOTHING about Bill/Fleur. They can't just get married, without any introduction.
There was too much emphasis on Draco....
I agree with you, the whole Burrow thing was stupid.......
The fight scene was just the Deatheaters smashing glass. NO fight what so ever. Stupid... And why did Harry collapse when Snape deflected his spell? I mean, Harry has been tortured, yet when someone deflects his spell, he just crumples as it is so hard.
GRR..... well I got alot of my chest! Just one more thing, do you notice that the dark mark changes each movie! Not the tattoo, but the 'Dark mark' that is in the sky!!??!!
*Sigh* well, besides all that, it was a great movie:)
havent seen the movie yet but i saw the clip where they burn down the burrow. it makes no sense. part of the deathly hallows is in the burrow so what they gonna do about that??
they also told in interviews that it was a scene to make the movie "better."
I was a little disappointed that they left out the death eaters vs. DA / order of the phoenix fighting scene. As for the scene at the Burrow, it could be a set up for Molly Weasley vs. Bellatrix Lestrange in DH.
It's getting annoying the way they mess the books up. There's also the destruction of The Millennium Bridge, the scene in the cafe with Dumbledore, no Dursley's, and you're right about the complete lack of reference to the potions book. I also thought missing out many of the old memories was bad. I love the books, and also the films, but for goodness sake, it's getting ridiculous. And where the hell was Dumbledore's funeral?
