What is a black hole?
One of my Sunday School kids asked me this, and he asked me if anything was in a black hole. I said I didn't think so but I would find out. He is the science buff not me. :)

"Inside" a black holes is the core of a dead star. I say it with quotes because the dead core is esentialy the black hole itself.
Anything that falls into a black hole will spiral towards the core; they are so massive that their gravitational pull does not let anything escape - not even light. Once within the black holes grasp, whatever falls in falls all the way to the core and adds a small amount of mass.

A Black Hole is not a hole. It is a star which has collapsed in upon itself and compressed down to a very small size and the tremendous increase in gravitation is so strong it pulls all light into itself. The resultant lack of light in the area appears as a dark spot.
So a Black Hole really contains the remnants of a collapsed star.

A black hole is what's left over after a star has died. It has used up all it's nuclear fuel causing it's mass to collapse back onto itself. With the mass increasing, the gravitaional force increases, which causes more mass to build up, which causes more gravitational force. This effect is cumulative until the mass and resulting gravitational force are so great that nothing can escape its pull, not even light.
Theoretically, the laws of physics break down at the point where the gravitational effect is escapeless. This point is called the 'event horizon.'

A black hole is a very dense point in space with such a massive gravitational pull it sucks in everything around it, including light. And yes I believe there is something in a black hole. Either that, or whatever gets sucked in is thrown out by a white hole

A black hole is a star that imploded. Sucks in anything within range. And no there's nothing inside a black hole except for extreme gravity.
