Why is the trac off/abs light coming on?

Hello,
I have a 2001 Chevy Impala. I have been noticing that for the past few days, while my car is in a turn position, such as - backing out the driveway, or turning left or right, that sometimes the abs/trac off button will come on. Then is says something like Service Traction System, but then it goes away after a few seconds. But I also notice that before the lights come on, I have this pulsing/vibration feeling in the brake petal. What it the cause of this? Could it be brakes? Something with the tires? Please help! Serious replies only.

previous question, yet poorly spoke back so right here is going... The lights furnishings are all correct. you have a difficulty in the ABS device and the ABS administration module has disabled it. That s the brake pedal resistance and ABS motor noise which you re listening to once you hit the brake pedal. possibly a controversy with the ABS wiring to between the wheel speed sensors (GM used familiar, twisted pair copper wiring that flexes with suspension pass and artwork hardens, then breaks interior the cord insulation the place you may t see the wreck), by way of fact the sensors themselves infrequently pass undesirable. until they are of the type that are integrated into the wheel bearing assembly. those will malfunction whilst the bearing is going undesirable. you nonetheless have your familiar, base hydraulic brakes nonetheless, so no concerns there. only no anti-lock function. The traction administration device makes use of the ABS device to accomplish its function, so any time the ABS computing device detects a difficulty extreme adequate to disable the ABS it additionally disables the traction administration and illuminates the Trac Off easy. So fix the ABS difficulty, and the two the ABS and Trac Off lights furnishings will turn off. The provider easy could must be reset independently if it doesn t sparkling by potential of itself. Google 2002 Sunfire provider easy Reset technique for that.

Sounds like your traction control is doing its job. If it doesn't affect your driving negatively, I wouldn't worry about it (unless it is not acting like ABS/traction control should... ask someone to see what they thing!). It should help your driving instead of making it more difficult/dangerous.

The pedal pulsing would be the ABS. Usually you can feel this during hard stops most, so maybe it is not working properly.
