Canon Rebel XS HELP PLEASE!!!?

I'm hoping someone can help me out.

My canon EOS Rebel XS won't display anything on the LCD display, or take a picture.
When you look into the viewfinder it flashes "busy."

all the functions are working fine, the flash pops up and flickers, the automatic focus focuses the picture, functions in the viewfinder is fine, its just it wont take photos, or display anything on the LCD

Try taking out all the batteries for a few minutes and then replace them.  Also check that your memory card is present and can be written to.  Try the memory card on a PC if you have the capability.

The camera may be having difficulties communicating with the memory card... try reformatting your memory card.
