What should my tire pressure be?

I have a 2006 Kia Sedona. The tires are 235/60R17. I just had new tires put on the tires show a max pressure of 44 psi. The shop filled them to 35 psi. Should I leave them at 35 or take them up to max rated pressure cold?

All these answers are good! I think you should look on the inside of the door.

If the tread runs flat at 35, and you are not consistently loading the car to the maximum (or close to it) that it will carry then I suggest leave it at 35. Adding more pressure will allow you to support more weight on the vehicle, but generally it is not required that you go that high.

However the best thing is to always check what the manufacturer recommends which is on the label in the drivers door.

the tires max pressure is 44, but kia recommends 35 or right around there for smoother driving and to maximize the surface area of the tire on contact wit the ground to improve your driving comfort and braking ability. leave it at the 35.

Look in your owners manuel or look on the door sticker it has all the info you need for smooth ride recommend by the dealer. The 44 psi rating is max load max psi.
