The entry drew me in almost as strongly as a Red Carpet laid down
and I was in awe that this show had come to my town.

In the area there were large spotlights flashing, 
music being played with drums and Cymbals crashing.

Once inside I caught my breath as if shocked by the electric
as my senses were assaulted by so many things eclectic.

Greeted and escorted as if this what "celebrity" was all about
I had the the elated feeling that this was heaven no doubt.

Euphoria was interrupted, a voice chimed, "Can I help you at all?"
It was as like an Actor called out to a second curtain call.

I said "Thank you", and smiled, "but I'd like to take it slow"
"After all I'm a guy and I'm in a new Home Depot."

Could perhaps spend an epic eternity
Versifying on the euphoria
Of encountering such a hardware emporia;
The smells of copper and fresh-sawn lumber,
The racks of tools and goods beyond number,
The sales and the surplus, the doodads and choices,
The do-it-yourself-ish cajoling voices;
---You're near to the mark, I grant you,
And the experience does give the nerves pleasant jolts,
But I'd have been happier if you'd added just a few 
More of the nuts and the bolts.

A fun read, Maestro Wolf, a nice build-up, and a very good last two lines for a chuckle at the finish.

I have never thought of it like that. Next time i see a Home depot or a lowes I will think of you. lol
