Deep fried.
No doubt about it.
Had it for the first time this summer, and went out and bought my own fryer the next day.
And I am going to use it foe Christmas!
It can blizzard and snow and be -40; I am going to have deep fried turkey for Christmas!

Roasting
for the times
My brother has this big deep fryer out in the yard with a protective cinder block wall around it and he fried a turkey one year I was there and I must say it is very moist and good BUT, that said, I do like a roasted turkey.

the easiest is for Publix to cook it for you. The next easiest is to bake it, that way you can walk away from it and chat with relatives. Smoking would take the barbeque (we aren't allowed to use the barbeque grill here). Deep frying is probably what people will be doing this year but there are dangers involved with that if the bird is still frozen and it can cause an accident. I'd personally not want to run to the hospital.

My ex-husband started smoking turkeys in the 1970's. He got his father and some other people to smoking them, and his father finally built a huge brick barbecue, he smoked turkeys for the family and friends and neighbors. Smoked turkey is good and I also like baked with crunchy skin. My mother-in-law would also make a baked turkey but she boiled it first in a big pot of water for hours to keep it moist, I was shocked the first time I saw her do that thinking the wings and legs would fall all, but it was a really good turkey, a large Tom turkey at that, nicely browned on the outside from the last hour baking in the oven.
