Running an old Windows 3.1 game on Vista?

Question

I have an older game called Smart Games Puzzle Challenge.  It was for Windows 3.1 and I'd like to run it on Vista, but I can't even install it.   

I tried running setup.exe in compatibility mode but even under all options,got the error  "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running....."

I was able to run this game under XP, but since buying a new computer with Vista, it won't install.  Any ideas?

If the compatibility mode doesn't work for you and you really want to play this game, then you can install Virtual PC 2007 on your Vista so that you can deploy a Windows XP as a Virtual Machine. (It will run inside Vista).
