Has Nascar's "new" rules and procedures opened up an era of "wreckfest"?
With the start of the Nascar season, it seems that the races are producing wrecks at times that normally there wouldn't be wrecks.
Has Nascar's new rule allowing drivers to police the bumping and thumping opened the door to a season of bad wrecks and retaliations this year?

I've made a total of about 81 cars from when Bud Shootout practice began Thursday last week to 9:04 p.m. tonight. Crazy right? PS this includes the ARCA race.
Yes, they can bump draft in the corners now and Nascar won't step in. Don't get me wrong I love to see big wrecks as long as every one walks away from it. If Daytona and Talledega didn't have the threat of the "Big One" the race would just be another boring race, The "Big One" for me is what I like to wait for on these 2 tracks, and I am glad Nascar is stepping back and letting the drivers "police" themselves. Besides Nascar needs some retaliation, I mean look at Bristol, or Martinsville, it is fun to see two drivers get mad at each other during the race, and start to beat and bang on each other. With all the rule changes and this boring COT car they needed to do something to make it interesting and more entertaining again.
you haven't been watching nascar for very long have you, Daytona and Talladega are wreckfests, thay have been like that for 50 years now. there has been big ones on the first lap, midway, last lap, on any given lap there can be the big one, and the reason why they said go ahead and bump draft is because they won't need to bump draft as much because of the bigger restrictor plate, more power less need. and this sport needs excitement, not wrecks as much, but more fire from the drivers like years past. and i believe that this year, nascar will return to its roots
From what I have seen, Id have to say no. Most of the wrecks havent been from anything that Nascar has done. Denny wrecked Mark at practice and it was clearly his fault, and that was at practice. From the NNS today it seemed bad judgement on the drivers part caused the wrecks, not the new rules.
No. This is Daytona. No matter what car package they run or what rules they put in place there are always wrecks like this. Especially in the Nationwide and Truck series where there are more inexperienced drivers. Dillon losing control in the middle lane had nothing to do with the new rules. It had to do with him not knowing what he's doing out there.
