Anyone can explain A1c to me. its concerning diabetics?

Glycosylated hemoglobin test. (HbA1c or HA1c)
This test shows your blood glucose level history of the previous eight to twelve weeks.
It measures your average blood glucose levels over the past two to three months.
This test is the best overall assessment of your blood sugar control.
Inaccurate if a condition that affects the average age of red blood cells is present. Such as:
Recent blood loss.
Hemolytic anemia.
Hemoglobinopathy such as sickle-cell disease.
Normal HbA1c results are four to six percent, less than five percent is optimal.

This is a blood test which gives a graph indicating the control of diabetes in the last 3 months. It is a graph from 1 to 10 . The graph shows 6 to 9 this means well managed , or good, below 6 is average and below 4 it is poorly managed...

HbA1c is a percentage of the red blood cells with glucose molecules clinging to them. The lifespan of a red blood cell is 90 to 120 days. so this is a measurement of the last 3 months with emphasis on the last 30 days as there are more of the newer blood cells.

The A1c is a blood test that determines how your blood sugars have been over the last couple of months. If the A1c is too high, then the doc knows that you may need some adjustment on your diabetic medications. A regular glucose level just tells the doc how your blood sugar is reading at the time of the blood draw. Hope I helped.
