I was going through a box of wires, cables and the like and found a 9-pin female (serial) to 1/8" male with a ferrite choke on the male end. Now, I can't for the life of me remember what this is for. Does anyone know?

Here's what I found in a Google search (some have pictures of the cable). This cable could be any of the following...
From a Polaroid® PDC-300, Fun! 320, or Fun! Flash 640 camera: https://www.cablesforless.com/p-1437-super-high-quality-6-foot-db9-to-35mm-custom-video-cable.aspx?v=1445
From another digital camera: http://www.carlmcmillan.com/serial_cable_pinout.htm
From one of the following: "Some miniaturized electronics, particularly graphing calculators and hand-held amateur and two-way radio equipment, have serial ports using a jack plug connector, usually the smaller 2.5 or 3.5 mm connectors and use the most basic 3-wire interface." (quoted from Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_port)
Or (not likely yet possible), a serial cable for a Lectrosonics Lect-Net device: http://www.pro-sound.com/BrandLectro/SLEC215291.html
I am leaning towards saying it came from an old digital camera.
