Culturally speaking: What is your favorite state in the US and why?
My favorite state is New York. Lots of diversity in NYC, lots outside of it, is on the US-Canada border so you can drive to another country. Amazing winters, lots of diversity and lots to do, great education system, and New Yorkers are not that bad.
Bonus question: What is one state you would NOT want to live in?

Oklahoma, because it doesn't have a lot of people. Slower pace of life and with chemical allergy's it has very little industry. So the air is easier for me to breath. I was born and raised in California and I did love the central valley and my family is there. But every year they defoliate the cotton and I ended up with pneumonia. I knew if I didn't leave I would die.
So moving for me was a matter of survival. The colder climates in the North has more population, more cars and winters would be hard for us. So taking the middle ground, decided on Ok. The South is to hot and muggy to be comfortable. We also considered Missouri, and Kansas. Living on a fixed income buying a low cost place to live was also an issue. This seemed to be just what we were looking for. No industry, no cars, and few people and cheap land.
