What are some examples of things 3 and 4-year olds ask about?
What are some typical things your 3- or 4-year old has asked you about? i.e. why do I have to brush my teeth? Why does making cupcakes take so long? etc.

On second thought, lets make that roughly 3 to 6 years of age.

My 4 1/2 year old asks questions constantly.
Where are we going? Where does the toilet water go? (I told him eventually to the oceans) So then he asks "How does the poop get out of it before it goes to the oceans?". Every answer from me leads to another question.
Yesterday he asked me "How does a baby get out of the mommy's tummy?"
Or, Why is the moon out at the same time as the sun. Or, Why do I have to sleep at night, why not during the day? Or, How does Santa fit down the chimney and what if people don't have chimneys? Or, Why do the leaves turn colours in the fall? Or, How does an airplane stay up in the sky?
If there is a question to be asked, he'll ask it. :)
I have a 6yr old, a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old... as well as a 13 yr old and one on the way. I can tell you the possibilities are *endless*. It just depends on what they are exposed to and what is going on in their world at the time.
For example... lately the talk has been all 'baby' around here. My three year old wants to know "How that baby get out there?" My six year old has heard me talk to classes of future educators about my oldest son's Aspergers... she actually asked me "Do you think the new baby will have Aspergers too?" (whoops... time to leave her home during the lectures)... but when pressed she had no idea what Aspergers actually was.
She (6yr old) has also recently asked if we could get a rock wall built at our house "Cause I really liked that one we went to." And the 5yr old has been known to ask others to do his chore for the day or to pick up after him "Because I'm too lazy." Of course he's also been known to volunteer to do the 3 yr olds job for him when the 3yr old needs help with it.
They ask questions about where we are going, when we will get there, who will be there, why other people won't be there... if we are staying home, if they can watch a show, who gets to pick first... there really isn't ever a time or place that doesn't come with questions! :)
ETA: The 5yr old also loves to 'play dumb' to get out of doing things. This morning he asked me "What is a wash rag?" when I asked him to go get one in hopes that I'd just do it myself. Little rat. :)
one day about 6 ish months ago, my 4 year old (was 3 then) followed me to the bathroom and stood outside the door and asked "mom what are you doing?" I replied "going potty" so he replys "But mom, how can you pee, you dont have a weiner" I almost died laughing. oh and once he was curiouse to how his brothers got out of my tummy and he asks "did they come out of a hole" so I said "yes they did" and he was fine with that but then turned around and told all his friends that his brothers came out of my belly button, bwahahah, oh I could write a book of all the questions he asks.
