Would you be a colonist on Mars if you could never return to Earth?

The Martian Mayflower ship contains a couple of hundred people - you won't be too lonely
You will only be able to take a spouse and any children under 18 you already have. No other family.
The chances of success are high, but not certain (more than the original Mayflower at least!)
You cannot ever return to Earth. It's a one way ticket.
You cannot communicate with Earth instantly. There is a 4 1/2 minute communication delay - so no phone calls from Earth, though email is possible.

No, and only for the reason that I find humans to be more interesting than planets.

Sure, as long as I can make the government the way it needs to be, have all the supplies we need, and I make the laws for the justice system, I don't have any kids and I don't have a wife any more, so I would need to find a single woman there.

Just as long as I could figure out how to grow things and colonize animals as well.
