Rimadyl Dog Emergency?

Question

My dog has been on Rimadyl for 3 days after his Neutering.  He was to take 1/4 of a pill twice a day.  I was not informed as to its dangers.  His name is Finn and he is a 6 month old beagle/basset hound and we have had him for about a month.  After taking Rimadyl, he has been having lots of accidents, has been drinking a lot, and having to go out every two hours and sometimes can't even hold it that long.  I saw that increase in thirst/bladder use is one of the dangerous side effects.  He is done with it now, is there anything I can do?  Could this be serious, I really can't lose him I already lost another one of my dogs and I don't know what I would do if I gave him medication that killed him.

Much more likely additional thirst & peeing is done to surgery  & after effects of being under  than the Rimadyl.  This is common issues.   The side effects of Rimadyl  show up with longterm usage not just using a few times.

Rimadyl is a muscle relaxer. It's not uncommon for the medication to affect the smooth muscle around organs like the bladder. If this persists or he starts acting lethargic (a sign of dehydration), you'll need to call your vet. Make sure he is drinking a lot of water and never deny him any, regardless of whether or not you feel like he's had "enough". There are medications in humans that cause "dry mouth" and it's the same principle.

I just read an article titled "Most dogs do well on Rimadyl - except the ones that die". I'd take him off it if you haven't already, and have your vet run a complete blood panel
