Did you buy her as a showable cat? Or as a pet quality? If she is not show quality you are wasting your time showing her. Talk to the breeder as far as if she is show quality first.
If she is, then you will be showing her in the alter class (I'm assuming the breeder spayed her before you got her). To get her used to people and places, maybe take her out in a carrier to Petco or Petsmart stores and let her get used to being around strangers. If she is very afraid of people after doing that for awhile, then she won't make a good show cat.
Not all show quality cats enjoy showing. The only way to find out is to try her in a one day show (TICA or ACFA have split days where you can show one day or two for the weekend).
If you need further help in getting her ready for the show, etc., email me and I'll give you more detailed info.
I've been showing for more then 25 yrs (purebreds and domestics (in the HHP class). I'm currently showing my Oci (who is a Grand Champion) and will be getting another kitten in the spring to show.
BTW you have to register her in the association you want to show her. How old is she now? Kitten class is from 4-7 months old. When they turn 8 months old they go in the championship or altered championship class.

You can't turn a shy cat into an outgoing one. You have to start them as kittens, showing them if they are outgoing. It is hard to get an adult to show properly if it is afraid of strangers. Strangers will be handling the cat and examining the cat to see if it is up to standard of the breed. If your cat is not people friendly she may bolt, jump off the judges table or start to hiss and growl at the judge and this will disqualify the cat. Entering a cat show can cost you up to $100. depending on the show. Call and talk to your breeder and find out if this cat is up to standards and find out what they think of it being afraid of strangers. Your breeder is your best friend when it comes to showing cats and they can tell you how and what to bath the cat with and what you will need to take to the show to present your cat properly.

Take the dogs out of the hoop for awhile and do extra working in the direction of with outdoors persons that the dogs would not be conscious of. In some breeds, shyness is a disqualification, so in case you have a breed that has a temperament everyday, whether the dogs conforms to the usually used, yet doens't have the temperament to pass alongside, it won't be bred if it deviates that. somebody WILL locate out in case you do something against AKC rules, so do purely no longer do it.

you may not be able to make her overcome this. she has got to want to do it. by the way i am one of the few people that think sphynx cats are cool. my mum doesn't want me to get one because she thinks they are ugly. they are a misunderstood breed.

She just needs to be exposed to strangers. One and then two and then three, and so on. Have friends give her treats. It's going to take time.
