Was this the "bloody show"?

I am 38 weeks 4 days pregnant with 2nd baby. With my 1st, my water broke and I never lost mucus plug or had a "bloody show" until I was 7cm at hospital in active labor. Yesterday, I woke up and when I wiped there was a lil mucus and some tiny red streaks of blood and it was kinda pinkish/brownish. Not alot of blood or anything, more so pink. I had it a lil again that day, but no consistent contractions.

I read "bloody show" means labor could be 1-2 days away, and it has now be 24 hours and nothing. So was this something else? Did you have a bloody show and if so could you share your experience with it. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I am ready to have this baby! lol

About 11 days ago my midwife told me I was 2-3cm dilated, 80% effaced, head engaged. And I believe I lost mucus plug over 2-3 days about a week or so ago.

Thanks everyone :o)

the bloody show and mucus plug are signs the cervix is thinning. some loose it all at once some over a course of time.
I had nothing with my first but my second I had it come but over the course of a week. Lots of mucus and pinkish blood. My doc thought I would have her soon when I told her it started 2 days before I saw them but then it stopped and I didn't go into labor until 4 or 5 days later. So I delivered 2 weeks after it started but it sounds like you are further along in the process than I was so hopefully it'll be soon for you :)

Sorry Im not really any help. I didnt have a bloody show with my first and never seen my mucus plug with either my first or second pregnancy. With my first my water broke and I had my daughter. Second pregnancy my water didnt break, I went in to my appointment and was told I was 3cm and in labor with my twins at 37 weeks. I then got sent to labor and delivery. Then had my c-section. I do remember both of my DRs telling me that if I have any blood or slime come out then to call them because most likely its my bloody show. So if you think you have had it I would call your midwife and let her know whats going on. Good Luck to you!! Sorry I wasnt much help!

nicely there are 2 meanings of bloody - bloody as an expletive ("bloody hell! you bloody bastard!") or bloody meaning lined in blood ("that combat grow to be particularly bloody"). the 1st meaning is seen swearing however the 2nd isn't. that's classed as very gentle swearing in the British Isles nonetheless - no longer even PG rated - or maybe milder in Australia. people (and Canadians?) do no longer use this observe and regard it as an a snigger Britishism. i could heard that the expertise (in this context) originated from lady menstruation yet i'm undecided approximately that. basically the every day Mail newspaper in Britain bothers to censor the expertise (writing "bloody" as "b****y"), that's ironic as Mail editor Paul Dacre is infamous between his colleagues by way of fact the main potty mouthed guy on Fleet street, with a particular fondness for the "c" observe.

A bloody show is when your waters break alot of blood streams out with it, and once again whilst your giving birth you will lose A LOT of blood so just keep drinking fluids and maybe go to korea town and see if you could buy some cows blood, I hear that this helps maintain the blood in your body.
