I know Oakland had and expansion in their stadium, I am going to guess its because the seats were never filled for baseball games and only for football games. They put a tarp over the unused seats.

My guess would be the metrodome or another multipurpose stadium, they could have added football seats and the baseball capacity would stay the same, for the metrodome that would probably be in Center and Right field
