HD videos won't play on computer..?

Question

I recored some stuff using an HD video recorder.  I downloaded it onto my computer but now I can;t watch it.  The players on my computer seem to be too slow - I can hear the video properly but I can't view it (it's either all black or in super slow motion.)
What can I do?

You should try vlc player from vlc.org

you could always convert it into something else like
WMV or anything like that
