Internet connection and Java download?

I am trying to download the latest version of Java and will not let me because it is not connecting thru my internet explorer, the reason being, my IE is not working. I run everything thru Firefox. So, I do I get my IE running and how do I get any new downloads run strickly thru firefox?

Forget IE you don't need to get it working :P

You tried downloading java how? Its update utility doesn't need a browser. If you manually update, you can do it from firefox, just go to the java webpage: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
Or from the Ninite page.

Also, is Firefox set to be your default browser? Go to Tools >> Options >> Advanced, and click Check Now

go to filehippo and download java from there and anything else you want
