Where do you ~wish~ you could fish?

No, I'm not talking exotic faraway locales, I'm talking about places you go on a regular basis (or semi-regular, or it's close to home, but you don't really go there very often) that you'd be willing to pay decent money to be allowed to come in with your rig and tacklebox.

Me? I start itching every time I go to the local zoo... not only are the waterways full of beautiful bluegill and bass (not even mentioning the tilapia other than to say I'm not mentioning them), but they've got this enormous brackish tank with snook, reds, mangrove snapper, sheephead, sailor's choice, etc... Honestly, I'd be willing to pay $40 just to bring half a dozen shrimp in there...

Dumdum, Do it! It's soooo worth it. I'm a brackish addict... there's plenty of good freshwater areas to fish near me, but personally, (and I might be a weirdo because of this, or because of other things) even though I've only fished freshwater within recent years, once I got the hang of it, it's almost too easy. My first bass was about seven pounds, and the biggest fish of the trip, and I was fishing with two tournament bass fishermen (they never took me again). Yeah, I've got some brackish spots where I know I'll catch, but it's always fun finding new areas that I don't know, and here where I'm at, there's sooo many new areas any time I want them.

Does Bass Pro Shops count? While I think the thick glass makes the fish appear a little bigger than what they truly are, there are still some VERY nice fish in those tanks. I love watching them during feeding time. It's pretty amazing how fast big and fat fish can zip through the water.

As far as an actual lake, Dale Hollow Lake, no doubt. I've been there a couple of times, and loved the place. It's a great smallmouth lake; in fact, there have been a lot of TV shows filmed there. The only thing about the place is the fact that it is a very difficult lake to fish on a lot of occasions; reason being, the water is almost always crystal clear, literally.

Damn, Basser, if I had a dime for every time I got kicked out our local country club, I'd be a rich man. I fished the hell out of the place, even though I was kicked out numerous times. Eventually, the cops showed up, so I stopped risking it. Talk about some great bass fishing, though. There were many days when I would catch 10-15 fish, and they were all 3 pounds or more.

I have a paradise to fish in right here at home. I can start fishing at the launching ramp or take a 30 mile boat ride with almost any stopping point capable of producing a limit of bass ( ten) There are times when you can catch over a 100 a day and other times you have to fish hard to get a limit.

But the problem is I wont fish any where else. And I would love to fish the brackish waters a few hours drive to the south. I think of it, read about it, but yet I just can't seem to make myself do it. Maybe, just maybe I will do it this spring. That just isn't normal is it?

There's a golf course near by... I'm itchin' to fish it.

But whenever my uncle goes and plays a round of golf there, he always forgets to ask the owner if his nephew can fish the pond. I'd rather get permission.

Then there's Matilija Lake up behind Ojai...

But in all honesty, it's been over a month since I've gone fishing, so right now I'll fish ANYWHERE I can... and I mean anywhere! I've even been contemplating the Ventura Pier!

My ideal fishing spot would be on a pier behind my house. Think.. waking up in morning and cooking up some eggs and bacon, then walking a couple feet to your backdoor to be rewarded with some huge catfish, bass, reds, snappers, etc. Nothing could beat that!
