First of all, you could never get an entire country to give up their property. The only way would be through revolution or war. Secondly, we would need an uncorrupted government that would have to control the economy. So is it even possible?
Also, a communist government needs to be totalitarian to start off right? After it does manage to start, and gets to the next stage; what would the type of government be?

Oh very much so. Here is exactly how it could happen. What makes the US different than other countries is the belief by all who live here that no matter who you are or where you came from if you work hard enough and apply yourself you can become successful and wealthy. As long as every American still believes that Communism will never take hold in the US.
Even among our closest allies if you are born to a certain station in life that is as good as it gets. A mechanic in the Mercedes Benz plant in Germany can never hope to become CEO no matter how hard he works or how much he studies on his own time. That is not the case for a entry level engineering technician at GM, he does believe if he works hard enough, get the necessary education such as a MBA, he can work his way up to CEO. That is why most of the European nations have very socialist governments that guarantee equality, culturally, economically, and politically among all their citizens.
The day all the wealth in the US is controlled by a small percentage of the population and only members of that group benefit from it is the first day towards a socialist or communist state. The day an American is born to a certain station other than the wealthiest group and it is made absolutely clear to him that he can only go so far no matter what is the day the trouble starts. If you pay close attention to early 20th century history we went down this road before and the result of that was the Labor Union Movement during the 1920s and 30s. Workers, who believed that they would never be more than workers and their lives would not only never improve but get worse as they enrich their bosses organized and demanded better working conditions, better pay, and other benefits and won them, sometimes in bloody confrontations with thugs hired by management. What kept it from going all the way back then was affordable education that allowed workers and their children to acquire positions in higher stations. Workers could become junior managers and if they worked hard, become journeyman managers and on to senior managers if they continue to work hard. The child of an assembly line worker could become an executive at Ford with education. That is why the unions never evolved into a Communist movement in this country. Remember it was that few wealthy people that in a moment of greed triggered the Great Depression impoverishing so many who saw they poverty was made possible by that wealthy elite. They lost their homes while the rich still had their mansions and the resentment created an opportunity for Communist organizers back in the 30s.
This time around access to affordable education is being taken away and there is where the trouble will begin.

It is possible, judging by the past when governments have tried and some suceeded, such as; China and Russia, although it would be hard for a country like USA and UK to become communists because they're not third-world countries. Usually third-world countries do strange things.

Why not relocate to China or North Korea? They are Communist already. You will enjoy being treated like less than cattle. (cattle are worth more to the Government)
Don't say anything about communism to South Korea. They fought a bloody war to be free and they wold think you insane.
