The graph of y = (x+1)2 - 3(x+1) is drawn using the graph y = x2 - 3x. Describe the transformation.?

It's a transformation of graphs question. I tried expanding the brackets of the first equation but I didn't get anything close to x2 - 3x. Please help me!

Clearly if you replace x+1 with x in y = (x+1)² - 3(x+1) you get y = x² - 3x.

This corresponds with a transformation of 1 unit to the left.

It's just like y = (x+1)² is a one unit to the left transformation of y = x².
