It is a translation of 1 to the left. You should use a column vector, 2 by 1, with -1 as the top number

and 0 as the bottom number. It is not easy to draw here.

    [ NB f(x + a) is a translation of -a in the x direction.

    f(x) + a is a translation of a in the y direction]

    For y = 3x + a million you could make a graph. y | y = 3x + a million | (x,y) -2 | y = 3(-2) + a million---- -6 +a million | (-2,-5) 0 | y = 3(0) + a million----- 0 + a million | (0,a million) 2 | y = 3(2) +a million ----- 6 + a million | (2,7) Now you could graph the coordinates on the main suitable-hand side. in case you look heavily you will discover a development interior the three coordinates. Then after graphing, you could have the means to attraction to a without delay line via those 3 coordinates. of direction there is a lot greater to it, yet i'm basically taking you interior the direction of the common steps. P.S. Took me a whilst to attraction to this graph, delight in it :) |
