Walt Disney World Question? Room Decisions Help PLease!?
My family is going to WDW this November. But this time, we're taking the grandma. My grandmother doesn't walk very far, but she wants to see the World. We will be staying at Saratoga Springs Resort. Now our room decided has me troubled. We could either stay at a Treehouse Villa or a 2 bedroom Villa. Heres my problems.....
Treehouse Villa Cons: Grandma can't walk much, and i dont know how far away the bus stop will be. People say the buses take long to come, and I dont want our time to be cut. We are not near anything. The 3rd BR had bunkbeds. Can we get a queen bed instead?
Treehouse Pros: We have never stayed in a villa b4 and if we are, why not get a huge one, right? We want 3 bedrooms. It will be tons of space.
2BR Villa Pros: We will be near the food court. We will only need 1 bus to get us to the parks.
2BR Cons: We wont have the big villa. Its not as much space.
PS: Were getting grandma a motor scooter.
I want peoples opinions. 10 POINTS!!!!

I have to disagree with the person who said stay off site. Staying with Disney just saves too much money and the perks are too great to turn down. I do not know if you are flying but if you are the cost you save on a rental car, gas and parking tends to be at least $400. Plus when you stay with them you get Magic Hours, no worry transportation and access to the meal plan.
Anyway back to your question.
I think you should stay with Saratoga. It is a wonderful resort and will be worry free for your grandmother. I know you said you are worried about the space but you also have to remember that very little time is spent in your room. As long as everyone has a place to sleep it is plenty of space. The most time we ever spend in the room is sleeping and getting ready for the day, changing to go to the pool or winding down at the end of the day before bed. Other than that we are out at the parks or enjoying the activties and enviroment that the resort has to offer.
Also, if you do not have it already I would HIGHLY suggest the meal plan.
The Treehouses and the 2 bedrooms are pretty close to the same square footage. That is why they are comparably priced. The rooms are just smaller in the Treehouse. It is a very unique and versatile place to stay, however.
At the Treehouse Villas, there is only one layout. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and attached bathroom. Bedroom #2 also has a queen and #3 has bunks. There are no other options. They are 10 feet off the ground and only a few have a ramp (instead of stairs) if you need that.
There are two styles of 2 bedroom villas at Saratoga Springs. Both masters have a king size bed. There are two different styles for the second bedroom. A dedicated 2 bdrm has two queen size beds. A lock-off 2 bdrm has one queen bed and one full size sofa sleeper (it will also have a kitchenette). That is because a lock-off is a combined studio and 1 bedroom.
It will be quicker to go to and from the 2 bedroom than the Treehouses. If your grandma is going to be spending more time there, it will be more convenient.
I don't know if you have ruled out other villas, but you may want to consider where you will be spending most of your days. If you like Epcot, maybe the Boardwalk or Beach Club Villas would work better. If grandma will be spending a lot of time in the room, a balcony facing the Boardwalk is great for watching people and street performers.
The treehouses are roughly .5-1.5 miles from the Saratoga bus stops.. It does NOT have any bus stops of it's own. I have stayed in a 2BR at Saratoga the past 5 times I've been to WDW..and they are not tiny by any means... I would not hesitate to stay there
it has i master king bed in one room....one queen sleeper sofa, and 1 sleeper chair (twin) in the living room area, and two queens in the second bedroom.. my grandma loved the accomidations at Saratoga and with the 2 bathrooms/showers its a great deal!
Why no longer get the finest of both Disney and the Caribbean with the help of taking a Disney cruise? both of you could flow on a 7-day Disney cruise to the Caribbean for below $4000, and eating is protected. you'll ought to pay for shore excursions and souvenirs, yet that's about it. you ought to even spend some days at Disney international, yet stay in a fee hotel to maintain money. From there delivery to the port will be free.
My first opinion would be to stay off-site. You can get a much bigger place and it's pretty easy to get a place that is convenient. I usually rent a house at Championsgate; generally, a four-bedroom house with its own pool is $80 to $100 a night if you rent from the owner and it's about five minutes to the Disney gate. You would have to get a car, but you could park in handicapped spaces and you wouldn't have to worry about loading the scooter onto the buses. Also, there is a lot of space and privacy, and it's easier to do things outside of the parks. It's much easier to save money on food, and you can do laundry.
If you are set on staying onsite, I would go with the two-bedroom condo. Being near the food court and the convenience of only one bus would be worth it.
